We have the mini-router plugged into the Pi, and they appear to be talking to each other. We have our iPad connecting to the Pi's network. The mini-router status light starts at blue, and goes to red, which sounds bad, but I can't find any documentation about what the lights are supposed to be/what each color means. The lights of the dispenser never turn on, so we're stuck at step 6 of the Hardware Setup. The iPad's popup is saying that no booze can be created with the available drinks, and doesn't let us log in.

Any suggestions as to where to go from here?

We plugged in all three dispensers, and now the mini-router turns to green! So it apparently required all three to be connected. They still haven't woken up, but the iPad's now directing to the menu. Progress!

Aaaaand we are back to only getting a brief flash of blue on the status light, then a steady red light.

When the light was green, for that one start up, we tried test running the dispensers via the admin page and while it seemed to *think* it was running forward or back, nothing was happening on the dispensers. The dispensers still have not lit up.

Any advice would be great. Thanks!

Apparently, we were powering the minirouter through the pi, not the pi through the minirouter.

Now on to dealing with all the dispensers having the same ID.

Hi Jim,

Sorry you're having problems!

What do you see when you go to the debug page?

Do all the dispensers report their IDs back correctly?

The dispensers do report their IDs, it's just that sometimes the first two end up having the same id. Our solution for that is to just power cycle the Pi and hope.

We did manage to get it all up and running by the end of Hackathon, and made a 3 reel slot machine that dispenses shots of alcohol. I believe Adri tagged you on twitter with a picture of the final construction.
